As a victim of identity theft, Fitz Desprez has made combating identity theft—especially crimes targeting seniors—a stated campaign priority.
“We will build a coordinated response to identity theft and work to make Jacksonville a leader in protecting seniors, families, veterans, and every resident.”
The proposal calls for prevention education, rapid referral to official reporting and recovery services, stronger coordination with law enforcement, and community workshops that help residents recognize fraud.

THE SOUNDS THAT CONNECT JACKSONVILLE
Jazz, Haitian and Caribbean music, dancehall, Spanish traditions, and orchestral performance carry common values: memory, discipline, celebration, improvisation, family, and hope. Jacksonville can honor those connections through local artists, neighborhood festivals, youth education, and welcoming public stages.

Fitz Desprez proposes a citywide recognition day honoring excellent local reporting, student athletics, youth sports, arts, content creation, skilled trades, and other outstanding contributions. Suggested gold mayor’s jackets, civic trophies, symbolic championship belts, and rings would be honorary awards—not cash prizes or endorsements.
The accompanying youth proposals include needs-based sports equipment assistance, accessible arts instruction for residents of all ages, high-school senior internships, paid career-training pathways, and performance-center shuttle concepts that could carry instruments and creative equipment. Every program would require City Council approval, lawful appropriations, eligibility standards, procurement review, and measurable public reporting.
College does not have to be the first stop. Jacksonville can help young people work, earn, then learn.

DAY ONE · READY TO WORK
Four detailed commitments connect public safety, mobility, respectful service, jobs, infrastructure, and accountable results.
PROJECTED DESTINATION PLAN
A world-class performing arts center would be the staple of a larger Jacksonville family-entertainment vision—connecting culture, tourism, local jobs, public space, restaurants, youth programs, and a responsibly studied theme-park district.
Commission independent demand, site, traffic, environmental, infrastructure, and operating studies before public commitments are made.
Test private investment, experienced operators, hospitality partners, philanthropy, naming rights, grants, and enforceable community-benefit agreements.
Plan safe transit, parking, walking routes, riverfront access, hotels, restaurants, performance venues, family attractions, and space for local businesses.
Advance only when financing, market demand, environmental review, public input, operating responsibility, and measurable taxpayer protections are clear.
SOLUTIONS WITH A PURPOSE
This is a projected vision, not an approved project. Any theme park or entertainment district would require independent feasibility work, suitable land, private-sector participation, environmental and transportation review, public input, procurement, and all required legislative approvals.
ABOUT ME · SERVICE BEFORE SELF
I am Fitz Desprez—a Haitian-American entrepreneur, community advocate, real-estate professional, former public-safety professional, and disabled United States Army combat veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom. My life has been shaped by faith, duty, resilience, and service. I know what it means to accept responsibility, bring people together, and keep moving when the mission is difficult.
I am running for Mayor because Jacksonville deserves leadership that listens, tells the truth, respects taxpayers, and delivers for every neighborhood. I will bring the discipline of a veteran, the practical perspective of a businessperson, and the heart of a neighbor to City Hall. My mission is clear: safer neighborhoods, lower costs, better city services, and a government that works for the people.
